Terms and Conditions

By placing an order with Direct Carpet Centre, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions. These terms apply to the use of our website www.directcarpetcentre.co.uk and any orders placed through it.

General

Direct Carpet Centre reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. It is your responsibility to review them each time you use the website, as continued use constitutes acceptance of the latest version.

If you are acting on behalf of a business, you confirm that you have the authority to bind that business to these Terms and Conditions.

Certain areas of our website may require registration. Access to those areas is subject to an approved login and password. All information provided must be accurate and complete. Your credentials are for your personal use only, are non-transferable, and must be kept confidential. If you suspect misuse or have any security concerns, please notify us immediately.

Order Process

All orders placed with Direct Carpet Centre are subject to acceptance in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.

Upon placing your order, you will receive an acknowledgement email listing the products ordered. Please note this email does not constitute acceptance of your order.

Acceptance of your order and formation of a contract will occur upon dispatch of the goods, unless we notify you otherwise or you cancel prior to dispatch.

Delivery

We deliver to mainland England and Wales only. All deliveries require acceptance by a person aged 18 or over at the delivery address.

Delivery charges and estimated timeframes are detailed in our Delivery Information page. While we make every effort to meet estimated delivery times, delays can occur due to unforeseen circumstances. Multiple items may arrive in separate consignments. We are not liable for delays or failure to deliver within the estimated timeframe.

Risk of loss or damage passes to you upon delivery, or upon the first attempted delivery.

We provide a kerbside delivery service. Delivery will be made to the closest accessible point to your property. Our drivers are unable to carry goods up flights of stairs or into upper-floor properties. If access to your property is not possible, delivery will be made to the nearest kerbside access point. Any known access issues must be reported to us prior to delivery.

Some drivers may, at their discretion, assist with bringing items into your property upon request. This is not guaranteed, and we cannot accept responsibility for any damage resulting from such assistance.

We strongly recommend that you do not book a fitter or installer until you have received and fully inspected your order. We are not liable for any installation costs, missed appointments, or lost earnings resulting from delivery delays.

If your order is particularly heavy, please ensure sufficient help or equipment is available at the point of delivery. Alternatively, you may request smaller cut sizes to assist with unloading.

Re-delivery or cancellation charges will apply where an order is successfully delivered or returned to us due to a failed delivery attempt.

Payment

Payment is processed at the time of order. If we are unable to supply the ordered goods, you will be notified promptly and issued a full refund where payment has already been taken.

Prices are as displayed on the product page at the time of your order. While we strive to ensure all prices are accurate, errors may occasionally occur. If a pricing error is identified, we will contact you and offer the option to proceed at the correct price or cancel the order. If we are unable to reach you, the order will be treated as cancelled and any payment refunded.

Flooring pricing is based on a per-unit or per-square-metre cost. In the event of a calculation error, we reserve the right to cancel the order or request the correct payment.

We accept payment via debit/credit card, PayPal, and Klarna.

Klarna Payment Options: In cooperation with Klarna Bank AB (publ), Sveavägen 46, 111 34 Stockholm, Sweden, we offer the following payment options:

  • Pay Later (30 days): Defer payment for 30 days after purchase.
  • Pay in 3 Instalments: Spread the cost over three equal, interest-free payments.
  • Pay Now: Immediate payment at checkout.

Payment for Klarna orders is made directly to Klarna. For full terms, visit Klarna's website. Your personal data is handled in accordance with applicable data protection law and Klarna's privacy policy.

Ownership of goods transfers to you upon delivery, provided full payment has been received. All prices are displayed in GBP and include VAT where applicable.

Returns, Cancellations & Substitutions

You may cancel and return your order within 7 days of receipt, in accordance with the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, excluding items that have been cut to your specified dimensions. Items must be returned in their original packaging and condition. Return costs are the responsibility of the customer.

Please be aware that due to the large and bulky nature of flooring products, the cost of return collection may significantly exceed the original delivery charge paid.

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, personalised or bespoke orders — including items cut to size — cannot be cancelled once cutting has commenced or the goods have been dispatched.

Cancellations after a delivery slot has been accepted, or on the day of delivery, will incur a 25% cutting fee on bespoke items and a failed delivery fee based on order size and location.

A minimum cutting fee of 25% of the total order value applies to all cancellations made after cutting has begun. This is in addition to any applicable delivery charges. Cutting fees do not apply to boxed or retail-packaged items such as adhesives.

If your order arrives damaged or faulty, please contact us before cutting or fitting the items. We will assess the issue and arrange collection and a replacement where necessary. Once an item has been cut or fitted, we are unable to offer a replacement or full refund.

Where a product becomes unavailable, we will endeavour to offer a suitable substitute. Substituted items may be returned within 14 days if they do not meet your requirements.

For click & collect orders, items must be well-packaged for transit. Collections are from the nearest kerbside access point, and assistance with loading heavy items may be required.

IMPORTANT: Inspection Requirements

It is essential that both you and your nominated installer/fitter comply with the following before any work begins:

  • You and your installer/fitter must unroll the material in full and thoroughly inspect it before any cut is made.
  • Once the material has been cut, you are deemed to have accepted and taken ownership of it.
  • By proceeding with cutting or fitting, you acknowledge that you have inspected and accepted the item's quality, dimensions, and condition.

No claims for faults, incorrect sizing, or quality issues can be accepted once the material has been cut or fitted.

Carpet & Flooring-Specific Conditions

  • Inspect your order upon receipt and before fitting. Once cut or fitted, ownership transfers to you and we cannot offer a refund, replacement, or cover any fitting costs.
  • Remove all sharp objects from packaging before installation. We cannot be held responsible for injuries resulting from improper installation.
  • Exact colour matches across different rolls cannot be guaranteed. Please contact us before ordering if a precise colour match is essential.
  • Pile carpets may develop shading and show signs of wear over time. This is a natural characteristic of the product and is not considered a defect.
  • Product dimensions comply with British Standard 3655 (1974), which permits a tolerance of +/- 1.25%.
  • Always use the correct fitting accessories to maintain product performance and warranty coverage. Flooring installed without appropriate accessories may void the manufacturer's warranty.
  • All flooring products carry a manufacturer's warranty for residential use only. This warranty is void for commercial installations unless otherwise stated on the product page.

Intellectual Property

All content on this website — including text, images, trademarks, and other intellectual property — remains the property of Direct Carpet Centre or its licensors. You may not reproduce or use any content without our express authorisation. Content is provided for personal, non-commercial use only.

Liability & Indemnity

Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that cannot be excluded by law.

We do not guarantee that our website is error-free or continuously available. We accept no liability for inaccuracies or losses arising from reliance on website content.

We are not liable for indirect losses, loss of goodwill, or special damages arising from use of our website or products.

Our liability for any claim is limited to the amount paid by you for the product(s) to which the claim relates.

These Terms do not affect your statutory consumer rights.

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal and order information but cannot be held liable for unauthorised access unless caused by our negligence.

Discount Codes

Discount codes cannot be combined. Only one discount code may be applied per order.

Miscellaneous

These Terms are governed by English law. Any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

Our products are intended for domestic use only. If used for business purposes, you are responsible for ensuring adequate insurance is in place. Our liability to business customers is limited to the replacement value of the product.

We are not liable for delays or failures caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

We may provide links to third-party websites for convenience. We do not endorse or accept responsibility for the content or practices of any external sites.

You may not assign or transfer any rights or obligations under these Terms without prior written consent from Direct Carpet Centre.
